Connect with a Community Navigator
Do you have a child who was recently diagnosed with a disability? Are you looking for guidance and support from someone who understands what you are going through as you advocate for your child? Consider participating in our Community Navigator Program (CNP), where you will connect with a Community Navigator who has personal experience caring for someone with a disability and who has been trained to provide the support you need. Our Community Navigator Program serves families with children from birth to 22 years old and also supports individuals with disabilities aged 22 and older.
Once connected with a Community Navigator, you will work together to establish goals that correspond with your family’s needs. This collaboration lasts for as long as you need and ends when you feel you no longer need the same level of support. Collaboration with your Community Navigator can take place over the phone, Zoom, email or in person--whichever works best for you. Navigators can help you achieve goals focused on establishing and navigating services and therapies, connecting with resources, navigating Special Education, as well as gaining a deeper understanding and competency about your child’s disability. Navigators are friendly, flexible, and focused on supporting you and your family with a low-pressure collaborative approach.
